What is Grand Canyon University?

Grand Canyon University is a private, Christian University based in Phoenix Arizona. GCU is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. GCU is a leading university in online education with close to 80,000 online students. GCU is committed to excellence - striving to help students become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators and responsible leaders. Lakeshore interns are able to pursue an accredited degree online with GCU while gaining practical ministry experience through the Lakeshore Internship.

What is the cost of GCU? 

  • GCU offers discounted tuition rates within the College of Theology. 
  • $395/credit hour
  • $95 book fee/class
  • $400 one-time learning management fee

Information about pricing for a different program of study is available upon request.

Can I apply for Financial Aid? 

As a Lakeshore Intern who is also enrolled at GCU, you can apply for financial aid: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa 

What are the Admissions requirements for GCU? 

Degree-bearing, secondary (high school) transcript:

  • An unweighted GPA of 3.00 or above
  • Home school transcripts from a state that recognizes home-schooling as a valid secondary school option.

OR (you do not need both the unweighted GPA and test scores)

Test Scores:

  • Composite score of 19 or above on the ACT. GCU ACT code is 0092
  • Composite score from one of the tests listed below on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). GCU SAT code is 4331.
